FRID Worldwide

( Questions )

Before you ask.

Everything guests usually want to know about how our days move, what the wellness side really involves, when Kosovo is at its best, and what happens after you send a request.

( Pacing & rhythm )

  • Slowly, on purpose. Most days hold one anchor experience — a mountain walk, a family table, a thermal afternoon — with long, unscheduled space around it. We would rather you remember three days properly than photograph seven.

  • Rugova and Brezovica days include two to five hours of walking on mountain paths, always at your pace and with a local guide. Every route has a gentler alternative, and cultural journeys through Prizren and the valleys are almost entirely flat.

  • Yes. Nothing is locked. If the weather turns or you simply want a morning of nothing, we reshape the day. That flexibility is the point of travelling with a small, local team.

( Wellness expectations )

  • No. FRID is restorative travel, not treatment. We work with sleep rhythm, light, nature, food and stillness — we make no medical claims and provide no clinical care.

  • None at all. Sessions are led at beginner pace and everything is optional. Choosing to sit by the river instead is a perfectly good use of the hour.

  • It is an invitation, never a confiscation. Some guests hand over their phone on day one; others keep it for photographs. Several of our mountain stays simply have no signal, which tends to settle the question on its own.

  • Yes. Tell us at enquiry stage and we brief every host kitchen in advance. Kosovar cooking is generous with vegetables, dairy and bread; vegan and gluten-free menus are arranged with the families who cook for us.

( Availability & seasons )

  • Late May to early October for mountains, rivers and long light. December to March for snow in Brezovica and deep-winter stillness. April and November are quiet, moody and beautifully cheap.

  • Six to ten weeks is comfortable. Our mountain houses and guides are small and family-run, so peak summer weekends and holiday weeks close early. Last-minute requests are still worth sending — we hold occasional space.

  • Journeys are private by default: solo travellers, couples, small groups of friends or families. Group departures are capped so that hosts, tables and vehicles stay intimate.

( Requests & booking )

  • It arrives directly in our enquiry inbox and is read personally — usually within two working days. You receive a written reply with a draft shape for your days, indicative pricing and real availability. Nothing is charged at this stage.

  • No. It is the beginning of a conversation. A journey is only confirmed once dates, itinerary and price are agreed in writing and a deposit is arranged directly with us.

  • There is no instant checkout. Once your itinerary is agreed we invoice a deposit to hold guides and houses, with the balance due before arrival. Payment details are always sent from our own email address.

  • Tell us as early as you can. Because we work with small family hosts we will always try to move dates rather than cancel, and cancellation terms are set out clearly in your written confirmation before anything is paid.
